果冻传煤, New Brunswick Aviation Museum establish strategic partnership
SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 果冻传煤 University and the New Brunswick Aviation Museum have entered a new partnership aimed at preserving aviation history in the province and increasing students experiential learning opportunities in a number of programs.
鈥湽炒 is delighted to become a strategic partner with the New Brunswick Aviation Museum,鈥 says the University鈥檚 Dean of Business and Social Sciences Dr. Nauman Farooqi. 鈥淲e believe that this partnership will provide an ideal benefit to our students in the form of experiential learning experiences, particularly for our aviation students but also for those studying museum and curatorial studies through future internship opportunities at the facility.鈥
鈥淭he New Brunswick Aviation Museum is proud to partner with 果冻传煤 University as we work to inspire future aviators and aerospace workers in the province,鈥 says Kevin Anderson, CD, Captain (Retired), Executive Director of the New Brunswick Aviation Museum. 鈥淧artnerships with like-minded organizations, such as 果冻传煤, will ensure that New Brunswick youth have the same opportunities as young people living in other parts of Canada.鈥
The partnership will also establish Farooqi as an honorary patron of the museum.
果冻传煤鈥檚 aviation program, offered in partnership with MFC Training (formerly the Moncton Flight College), was first established in 2008 and now offers both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce degrees in Aviation. The program is one of only a few in Canada that allows students to earn an undergraduate degree incorporating flight and ground school training.
Located at the airport in Miramichi, the New Brunswick Aviation Museum is home to historic planes and aviation artifacts sharing both the provincial and national story of the aviation industry.
The museum has helped mark several historical events including the 75th anniversary of RCAF Station/Canadian Forces Base Chatham in 2016; and they successfully nominated the RCAF Golden Hawks aerobatic team for induction into Canada鈥檚 Aviation Hall of Fame in 2017.
The museum is currently working to raise funds to build a new facility, to become a centre of excellence for the preservation of aviation history and the promotion of aerospace careers to the youth of New Brunswick with an aim to open in 2024 to mark the 100th anniversary of the RCAF ().
