Celebrating International Women鈥檚 Day

05 Mar 2024

Friday, March 8 is International Women鈥檚 Day, a global celebration of the achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

鈥淥n International Women鈥檚 Day, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and achievements of women at 果冻传煤 and globally,鈥 says Dr. Robert MacKinnon, Interim President and Vice Chancellor. "Much of 果冻传煤鈥檚 success is owed to strong women in academia and we are proud to celebrate them today and every day!鈥

This year鈥檚 theme, Inspire Inclusion, encourages others to understand and value women鈥檚 inclusion, fostering a more inclusive world. When women themselves are inspired to be included, there is a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

There are events and activities organized to celebrate International Women鈥檚 Day by groups and departments on campus, we welcome you to participate and contribute to support, uplift and empower women.
